Net2Plan - The open-source network planner

Since 2012 I am leading the development of the Net2Plan, an open-source Java-based planning tool for optimization and evaluation of communication networks. It has been originally thought as a tool to assist the teaching of communication networks planning courses. Finally, it has converted into as a (in our opinion) powerful tool for network planning for the academia and industry. I am using it in several undergrad courses ("Communication networks theory", "Network planning and management" and "Network Operations and Engineering"), and also in my research.

JOM- Java Optimization Modeler (JOM)

I am author of the open-source Java Optimization Modeler (JOM) library, for solving optimization problems from Java, suitable for teaching and research purposes (L-GPL license). Quite useful, in conjuntion with net2plan.

MatPlanWDM - An educational tool for network planning in wavelength-routing networks

From 2006 to 2012 I was working in the MatPlanWDM project. MatPlanWDM is a MATLAB-based publicly available network planning tool for multilayer WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) optical networks (also referred as wavelength-routing networks). The tool can be used for research and as an educational tool in network planning courses.

Important: MatPlanWDM was discontinued by September 2011 in favor of Net2Plan
