Ramón Martínez Carreras - Biography

Ramón Martínez received in 2008 the B.Sc. degree (5-year) in Telecommunications Engineering at the Technical University of Cartagena, Spain; in 2012 he received the M.Sc. degree in Information and Communication Technologies; in 2017 he obtained his PhD in Information and Communication Technologies at Technical University of Cartagena. A great part of his research work, both before and after his PhD, is about Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI), with special emphasis on evaluation of IoT middleware platforms, design and integration of real prototypes and use cases in different domains as agriculture, smart cities, environment or health. He has been part of international and national projects, such as the EU PHARAON, LIFE ECOSENS AQUAMONITRIX, READEX and STARTUP SCALEUP, and the Spanish IoT HUB and cDRONES. He has participated on international conferences, and he has published works in high impact journals about his research. Currently he is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Telecommunication Networks Engineering Group (GIRTEL), at Technical University of Cartagena.
