The 1st Workshop "Future Internet: Efficiency in high-speed networks" (W-FIERRO 2011) will be held in Cartagena (Spain), in the Spanish Mediterranean coast, 7th and 8th of July 2011. The goal of W-FIERRO is to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners investigating in the evolution of the high-speed networks for the Future Internet.

The Future Internet initiative is a long-term international research goal. Its target is addressing the challenges that the predicted evolution of the Internet raises. W-FIERRO puts the focus on the technological challenges to be faced by the high-speed metro and core networks, where the traffic is aggregated.

The goal of W-FIERRO is to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners from around the world. Sessions will include panel sessions and presentations on research results. Papers describing original work are invited in any of the areas described in the call for papers will be considered.
